I normally use Paypal, so if anything goes wrong i have a fall-back
but if im buying something online using just a credit card transaction (ie online store in china) how safe is it, am i open to fraud ?
do i have protection with the visa company ?

You are always open for a fraud when you use your card any where in the world; online shops in China obviously have a higher risk then spar around the corner.

In general though you will have the possability of a charge back via the CC company. If possible look into if your bank offers e-cards (one time cards created with a set credit limit and duration that look like a real CC to the store). Out of curiousity what are you buying from the online store and do you mind linking it?

    www.entropay.com

buy a UK debit card, that way you are limited as to what you can lose, however, you lose the CC protecton too (for a fee, about 2% I think)

Get charge free flights with ryanair though if you choose a UK £ debit card though.

If its an online store in China selling Nike Shox at a great price, then almost certainly its either a scam site or fake products.

You'll also get caught by duty & vat when they come into Ireland

Go to Nike factory store in Kildare Outlets where you'll get many styles at half price.
