    Hi,

My family and I are flying to Faro in June (booked on-line with Aer Lingus) and have booked into a hotel in the Portimao/Praia de Vau area.

I am looking to book a taxi transfer from the airport to our hotel and am just wondering if anyone has used either of these companies:

    www.faroairporttransfers.com or
    www.shuttledirect.com.

Or indeed, if someone has used any other company in Faro for transfers to/from the airport that they would recommend?

    Cheers.

I have used shuttle direct a good few times and must say they are excellent. There will be a person waiting for you as you exit after getting your bags with your name on a card. They can also monitor your flight from Ireland so if your going to be late they will know.
The same on the way back. They will arrive on time at your hotel / apartment to collect you and bring you to the airport.I am using them again in 2 weeks when we return to majorca

I've used them only in Majorca. I don't know what they are like anywhere else

Ah cheers for that Moanin, was slightly worried about using them as they were the cheapest. Definitely going to go with them so... BTW Did you pay by cc or cash?

    No probs,

You have to pay by credit card if booking them on line (I think). For the trip we are going on in two weeks, there are 14 of us and for the return trip its €262.It's 25 miles each way which isn't bad plus you have the whole mini bus to yourselves and no waiting to drop others off etc

I used low-cost-transfers.com and found them great, however their website seems to be down now.

A friend of mine owns a place near Alvor and rents it out, he uses this guy for all transfers. I was out there last year and the service was excellent, air-com Merc Mini bus for 4 of us costed 50 Euro each way.
