I'm always suprised at the amount of interest in British classics here in Ireland. Also they seem strongly priced judging by shows and advets.
Why is this? Is it due to historical reasons?

Historical would be a big part as they would have been probably the most common marques in Ireland in their heyday. Plus, some of them (minis, many mg's etc) were actually good cars!

    They're all right-hand drive.

Plus the large availability of both cars and parts, I'd say.

They are close by, and most have been well minded too.

But!...But!...But!... what about all the fantastic French cars floating around here in the '70's & '80's. Citroen's C15, Dyane's,2cv's, GS Pallas. DS, Peugeot - 1xx to 6xx, Simca's like the rwd 1100 / 1300. And of course all those fab Renault's packed with standard goodies like central locking, electric roof's & windows, 5 speed boxes, plush interiors,
I do like Uk cars but French is finese!

Dead on! Those Taunus models were good. Is that the same as the German Taunus? I rather liked the MK3 it had a different shape to the rear and looked lower.
