Everton down to 10. Made 3 subs and now Jagielka has done what looks like a knee badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I looked out the window and seen a pig flying. I thought to myself 'thats the strangest thing I'm going to see this weekend'. Then I checked the Premier League scores and low and behold Manchester City are 2-0 up in an away game.

We've been super. Up there with our best performances of the season. Robinho and Ireland is the best double act in the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Made things difficult as per usual but got over the line. Delighted with that three points.

If only Robinho could do this on a regualr basis, I'd like to see Ireland at a top 4 club, but just wondering would he be able to make that step up to the next level.

    Here's something i didn't realise
Arsenal haven't conceded a goal at home in the league since December 21, when Robbie Keane scored for Liverpool. That's 11 hours and 52 minutes ago, in football terms

Not too shabby, though of course now I've gone and jinxed it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Djourou on for Silvestre. Warming him up for Wednesday i hope, rather than another injury...even if it is Silvestre:P

Cese grabs a second, Diaby and Ade on.

2-0 up against Boro at home, good time to rest theo and cesc.

Can't see the reason for risking Ade though?
Surely give Vela a run as he won't be playing Wednesday.

Especially considering RVP is injured, Adebayor picking up an injury is the last thing we'd need

Blackburn's striker problems leading to Samba being played upfront again,

which means long balls are the order of the day, and also Pederens long throws,

Valencia has hit the bar for Wigan,

Other than that a few nothing chances for Blackburn who really need to capitalise on yesterdays and this afternoons result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

25 mins gone and still no score,

Wigan have offered little in terms of attack,

Blackburn continue to test the Wigan defense with long balls and long throws to Samba who has had some success, with 3 men marking him at times,

However Blackburn have never been there so far for the 2nd ball from his knock downs,

With N'Zogbia Valencia and Mido linking up well at times, Blackburn must be concious of the threat a Wigan Counter attack poses.

    Goal...

    Blackburn 1 - 0 Wigan

It was always going to come from a setpiece, a corner headed in from Mccarthy right on the stroke of half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Benni undoubtedly has that goalscoring touch. In fairness he looks fitter today than he has done for some time, maybe Big Sam has finally got though to him.

As you said it was always going to come from a set piece. Samba really does give defenses something different to think about.

    Come on the Rovers!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Would be nice to see Doran make an appearance today,

but the longer it stays 1-0 the less likely i think that will be.

    2-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

what a time for the captain to get his 1st goal for Rovers :)

another set piece, 2-0!! lets hang on for the win now, massive 3 points if we do considering other results
