Sorry if this does not help but it helped me. Google the model number as its written. You get everything to do with the model and what the general solutions were.

My dryer went 2 months ago and I fixed mine using it.

If you have tried this already my apologies

You could also try and post a question here http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=34&sid=399ae25dda5c32598598a548d6c5d24a ... they seem like quite a knowledgeable and helpful bunch.

From your quick description of the problem, it sounds like the belt has snapped or slipped off.

nope Byte, thanks anyway, belt fine. took lid off and if you push the drum it it goes, but cant seem to "go" by itself. Methinks capacitor. Just have to find out how to get to it!!
    Thanks:)

I`m having a similar problem, I have to push/turn start my one. It cant start on its own and when it trys to I get that burning smell, I have it opened, I know nothing about dryers, its makes that scretching noise louder in one direction than the other. Could it need a belt,(not like a slap/belt lol) or some greese somewhere??

I have identical problem. It stoped working one night. Smell of burning came from the drum not spinning which stoped air circulation from element. Im gonna try and change the capacitor this weekend as its making all the right noises but just wont spin the drum. Will keep you posted.

Well I kind of fixed the problem, there was a big rubber rong behind the drum and it was covered/surrounded in bit a everything, I hovered it all out, but it back together and it does`nt make that awful noise. But I did have to push start it the first time, but after that I stopped it opened the door and closed it and it started up all on its own, no burning smell, it also did a complete cycle without stopped when it changing dirrection.
I think if I only need to push start it the first time then that`s better than buying a new one. Job kind of done.
