What OS do you have, and what OS does the remote computer have?

do you know the host name of the machine? If so, then ping the host name and the Ip address will be on the first line.

I need all details, not just ip, i need gateway dns everything.
OS is from xp to an ESX linux box

Firstly, when you say "access is difficult" , hope your not doing this for any malicious reasons?? - but in any case you will need remote access software ie logmein etc. installed on inaccessible machine.

SSH in and run ifconfig. Unless you need this done a regular thing, by script or the like.
