    I am planning on moving to Vietnam in the summer and living there for about 4 months. Now I have done the maths on this and I have a budget of about 200euro a week. I heard it was dirt cheap over there and I can live on this. Is this true?

    And also, where are the nice places to go in Vietnam..mainly exotic beeches?? I plan and living like a King because I am sick and tired of this country. Thanks

    smart words, save your money man, at least til things pick up economy wise, you could hit rough times like the rest of the country and 4 months outta the country will only prolong your problems when you get back

    Try Phu Quoc Island in south. Get your own bungalow for about $8 a night (for decent one), feed yourself well for less than $5 a day and beer costs between $0.20 & $1 a glass. Anti-depressants and sleeping pills are widely available without prescription as well, backup in case the doom doesn't lift!

    Op Vietnam is cheap (not as cheap as Laos though=) and as long as you are not going on the razz every single night or doing expensive activities like scuba diving then €200 a week is enough, its possible to survive on less but that figure would see you be quite comfortable.
    AFAIR there are price charts over on www.passplanet.com , not sure how in date they are but it'll give you an idea.
    Also www.travelfish.org is a good website for that region
    But tbh if I was going to SE Asia for four months I'd want to travel around it a bit rather than just stay in 'Nam. Theres loads more to see and do in the region that is far better than Vietnam.

    Also take into consideration that you are going to have to get your visa extend at least 3 times if you plan to spend 4 months there. That could be hassle with officials who are suspect at why you are spending so long in the country.
