Boards.ie Xbox 360 Street Fighter 4 tournament-Sign Up!

Hi all,
There was an attempt to create a Boards.ie Street Fighter 4 tournament when the game was first released, but I think we are all in a better position to run the event now. Everyone has had practice and many more players have purchased since.

So this thread will act as a sign-up sheet.

I need a minimum of 16, but once we pass this number, I will accept new blocks of 4 players up to a maximum of 32.

The tournament will comprise of a group stage and a knockout stage. In the group stages, players will be divided into groups of 4 players and each player will play the others once.

Each battle will consist of of 9 games. All 9 games will be finished, regardless of any player reaching 5 wins after a certain number of games.

Based on the final number of players in the group stages, a certain number will qualify for the knockout stages. These will be single elimination and will be first to a certain number of games. It is envisaged that the semi-finals and finals will consist of more games than earlier rounds.

A fixture list will be posted at the start of each week, and the group stages will last 3 weeks.

So, if you are interested in playing, just reply with your gamer tag and boards name.

When we hit 24 players, we will begin! I'm going to change the format to accomodate a few more players. All will be revealed soon so keep checking back! The format will allow players go get plenty of games played aganst a wide range of opponents!

Unfortunately SF4 has no feature which can create a tournament for a set group of players. Therefore we have to do it the old fashioned way.

I will randomly assign players to groups and will post fixtures. The players in each group will play each other once and the top X players wll go through to a knockout stage.

All fixtures and results will be posted here!

i thought the new update allowed toruneys?
anyway think there is a site that does a display off such tournaments, sort of like an online app
