Sorry this is probably a bit of a dosey question but does anyone know if the ISO connections are the same as those standard connections on a VW connector?

    Thanks

nope they're different. You must change over two wires on the ISO
to be more specific i've checked this (using my kenwood headunit manual here, but should be standard)

    CAR (VW)
    Headunit

A-7 pin (Red) connects to Battery cable (Yellow)
A-4 pin (Yellow) connects to Ignition Cable (red)

    Most other cars:
    CAR (VW)
    Headunit

A-7 pin (Red) connects to Ignition cable (red)
A-4 pin (Yellow) connects to Battery Cable (yellow)

From what I recall, these cables usually can be interchaned easily. Hope this helps :)
