A few people I know wear bras in bed. I don't. Is it not really uncomfortable? I suppose if you have bigger boobs you need to keep them in place..that's the only reason I can think of for doing so!

Many a bra has tried to come between a man and his wife / girlfriend / lover .

    But not for long ;)

Comfort aside woud having a bra on 24x7 not stretch it out and make everything floppy? Anyhoos I like vest with 'secret support' to keep things in place ;)

I did when I was breastfeeding, it was a case of having to, but other then that gods no.

Depends if I'm too knackered, cold or drunk to take it off! On the whole I'd say no though.

No way,I cant wait to take it off. It,s the only time they get freedom.

This is so weird, I had no idea most girls slept without one! I would always wear a bra in bed, I'd feel strange without it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Birdie086

Do it every so oftern when very drunk, and wake up in agony the next morning. I sleep on my side so the wire digs in to my side

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,073 ✭✭✭sam34

no definitely not, and i have fairly big boobs ;)

i hate the feeling of restriction from a bra when in bed

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

I do when I'm sleeping on my own. They're big and I want to avoid droopage for as long as possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

oh good god no, it's so uncomfortable. even if im fully clothed and just crashing on someone's couch, 99% of the time, ill take the bra off before i crash (the otehr 1% of the time, im just *wasted*).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭SeekUp

I do! Well, unless I'm post-coitus. ;) I'm fairly well-endowed and I just always had in my head that the less the girls moved around, the better! But I recently heard that wearing a bra all the time encourages the tendons to be lazy and not to their job when bra-less. I'm not sure I believe that, but . . . hmmmm.

You would be better off leaving the bra off and not restricting your circulation while you sleep and doing exercises to increase and strengthen the muscle wall on your torso which holds your boobs up tbh.

No. How uncomroftable would that be?

Do you wear the same bra you wore to bed the next day then or what?

I tend to wear my crappier bras at night . . . and when I shower in the morning, I put on a clean bra. simple!

No never wear a bra to bed ,and when i am not at work i do not wear one either, have to for work ,as i work in a very male envoirment, and as i am quiet busty the men tend to talk to my bust and not me

Only very, very occasionally if they're particularly achey and sore from PMS.

Yeah the circulation thing is something I take on board all right - by only fastening the bra loosely. I only hook one loop and it's the very last one.

I've big breasts and I find it very uncomfortable to wear a bra, if it's an underwire bra then it tends to dig into either my ribs or breasts, if it's not underwire then I find I can't breath the way I want to, as I drift off I take in a few large breaths and the bra normally disturbs that. But then again I do sleep without anything on, unless it's too cold.

Pah!Im too lazy to take it off.....only time I dont wear one is if it has been removed for me:D

Bra deflects bullet aimed at Detroit woman

A 57-year-old Detroit woman avoided serious injury when the underwire on her bra deflected a bullet shot at her from next door, police said. The woman, who lives on the West side of Detroit, saw a group of men breaking into a neighbour's house on Tuesday morning. When the men spotted her, one of them fired a shot at her, a police spokesman said.

The bullet struck the underwire on the woman's bra and that saved her from a more serious injury, police said.

"It did slow the bullet down," said Detroit police spokesman Phillip Cook. "She sustained injuries but they're not life threatening."

The woman, who was not identified, was treated at a nearby hospital. The suspects in the shooting drove away.

I don't have big knockers (only a B!) but I wear my bra all the time, so yeah, I wear it to bed.. at least, now. I used to not sleep with anything on (:pac:) but I'm in shared accom at the moment so unfortunately, that's not an option anymore.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,349 ✭✭✭Samurai

    awesome thread btw!

I wear one as little as possible and definitely not at night for comfort reasons mostly. To be honest, another reason was I got a fright when I read an article about some Harvard study from 1991 that showed a positive link between wearing a bra and developing breast cancer. Something to do with compression of the lymphatic system or something.

I tried to do some independent research and found a good few articles disputing the findings (the study seemed to be pretty flawed and open to criticism). From what I've read, I'd say it's nonsense but the stupid thing is stuck in my head now and I keep thinking "what if"!!

Wish I could find a more reliable source to prove or disprove this "theory" but I can only find opinions and annecdotal stuff. Anyone know if there is anything concrete on the matter out there?

I don't usually, though when on call at work I do, just easier that way. Either way I sleep fine

this shouldnt even have to be debated...

its a simple rule of thumb... no bra in bed.

us guys dont want life to be made harder by struggling to open the bra strap lol :D

no never. I wear little vest tops in bed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,410 ✭✭✭kizzyr

Never in a million years! Also, if I'm having a really lazy day at home I tend not to wear one then either. Have to say that I'm not that well endowed so maybe this helps me not feel the need to wear one all of the time.

I'm surprised at the amount of women who go braless, except for work, etc

I always wear a bra except for shower and sex, I wear a sports bra in bed.

This is not at thread about ease of access for a guy, ffs it's about what women do for themselves and their boobs.

I can understand at certain times of the month how an extra layer and some more support can be helpful but other then that I can't see the point.

No bra in bed, I'd be very uncomfortable wearing one in bed, set them free I say:D

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭Ginny

God no, I'd never even think of wearing one in bed, actually it tends to come off when I go home and change into my at home clothes.

I don't like being routinely braless. I am averagely endowed, but even at that, that heavy feeling without a bra is awkward for me.
So yes I do wear one to bed.
I am a firm believer in comfortable non wire bras though.

I do! I have big puppies and feel that they need support!

Now saying that sometimes it feels soooo goood to release them foe a night.....I probably were on in bed 60% of the time.

Scared they will be to my knees by 30!
