Damn it. Two Heads of Philosophy department in as many years? That sucks. Just heard of it. Here's what's on the Philosophy site...
    Professor John Cleary R.I.P.

It is with deep regret that the Department of Philosophy announces that the death has occurred of Prof John Cleary of NUI Maynooth and Boston College. John underwent surgery for a liver transplant last Thursday but his body rejected the new liver. He passed away in the early hours of Easter Sunday morning following a second liver transplant operation. Sadly John's condition deteriorated whilst awaiting the second donation and he was unable to recover following the surgery.

That is terrible. I can't imagine getting the news that my body was rejecting the liver. My heart goes out to he and his family.

There was a funeral on today in the town church. Was it his?

    RIP

No, unfortunately that was for a young person who died during the week.

Awful news, I did not know him, but I knew of the department and of Tom previously by reputation.

    RIP

This was sent out as part of the student E-Letter.

It was with the deepest sadness that the campus community learned of the death of Professor John Cleary of the Philosophy Department on 12 April, rest in peace. There will be a Mass of Remembrance for John on Wednesday, 29 April, at 12.05pm in St. Mary's Oratory, St. Patrick's College, South Campus, to which everyone is most welcome.

    Was that really necessary?

I mean would you say the same if it was somebody close to you?

I think he's obviously looking for a reaction with that comment.
    Just ignore it.

I apologise. I really never did anything like that, and yes i was looking for a reaction, looking to vent my own frustration i suppose. A close relative is dying belonging to me, i really don't know what came ove me to be so heartless. Onced again, my sincere apologies...May he rest in peace. My thoughts are with his family tonight.
