At a guess you are using IE and not Firefox?

Its a sound effect, you can turn it off via the control panel.

Control Panel > Sounds > Sounds Tab > Look for a sound event called start navigation and select no sound for it.

    Using Opera.
When playing tunes it comes across as momentary static interfierence. Thanks for reply

Do you get it when the cpu is busy? Or is it limited to just your browser? Could be a driver problem maybe.
