I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything over the counter which is good for exhaustion and tiredness...I'm facing exams in a couple weeks and I'm literally up to my eyes with assignmens ect and I don't know what to do...
I've had bloods taken and all came back clear...So I'm like a bit lost.
I know physically that I'm fine...I take a multi-vitamin everyday and like a yoghurt and juice to even try and get me going in the morning but even thats not doing anything...
If anyone else has been in a similar situation I'd really appreciate and advice/opinions.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

As a good general tonic and over the counter remedy try "Berocca".It's a tablet you just dissolve in water and take with the breakfast. You should ensure your diet is good though ,especially brealfast.A yougurt and juice -if thats all you are having - is not enough.Take fresh fruit and a good ,fibre based cereal as well.

Generally try to ensure you are getting enough fresh air and exercise.Walking for at least 35 minutes a day is hard to beat.Dont beome dehydrated so keep drinking water during the day.Last but not least try to get at least 8 to 9 hour's sleep a night and go to bed at pretty much the same time.

After a couple of weeks and in case of no improvement I would see a doctor to rule out thyroid or glandular problems.

All good advise from the above poster.

OP got their bloods done, so problems there would show up? Iron deficiency can cause tiredness. Knocking the drink on the head is great as well as you sleep sounder and have a clearer head, and go to bed early.

    Berocca or Rubex, yeah.

I've several friends in the same boots as yourself OP.
One of them has exams in 2 weeks and she started taking caffeine tablets last week, which I think is ridiculous, they're a last resort.
A friend of mine went for his maths exams a third time last year and he took caffeine tablets the two days prior to the exams, found the come-down very hard off them.
I was doing a pretty tricky course this time last year (involved staying up for 3 days at the time of final presentations and facing into exams) and to do that I simply drank Red Bull, I don't know if it's a placebo effect that stuff has on you but I was fairly wired and fully mentally stable for 3 days, tiredness wears off after 6-8 hours beyond the time you're usually due sleep by.

Pharmaton is good for a quick boost and I've always noticed the effects pretty much straight away. Just be careful not to take them for too long, just a month or two to build up your system again.

Keep up the multivitamin, cut the caffeine, get your eight hours as much as possible and try eating every 2 - 3 hours (fruit, veggies, wholegrains, lean meats...) to keep your energy levels up.

Im in the middle of exams myself and i would be lost without Red Bull, Spirulina, good sleep (so no booze) and walking for at least 30 mins a day, you need breaks.

    Best of luck!

    Hi..
Being honest I've had glandular problems in the past, which ended up quite serious...But I'm all clear now though...The Berocca thats the one I've being doing for the last number of months...I find it difficult to eat a proper breakfast always have and for me it's a miracle that I'm eating what I am!
Sleep have been a difficult area for the last while because I'm under alot of pressure with college and work...which is something that cannot be changed for the next while...The Doctor didn't think that it was anything major which in its self I suppose is a relief...but at the same time I've got no where as regards improving the current situation...
I know this is a last resort but what are these caffine pill, do they just give you a pick me up, an energy boost...I do drink alot of tea only recently though and red bull dosen't work at all for me would put me to sleep faster that it would wake me up...going to knock the alcohol on the head now till the end of may for certain...
Thank you all for your replies.
