    Hi All,

I'm going to go Unreg for this one cause I know good few people around Boards. First of all I'm going to Apologise if I ramble in this post. I'm 25 and Engaged to the only girl I've ever gone out with we've been together for 7 years and I love her dearly. We argue a good bit Maybe too much but its never anything serious and I know I can handle it.

Now the Problem, There was this girl when I was 16-18 who I went to school with Lets call her A, Now I wasn't popular in school didn't have any freinds untill I was around 15 when made good friends with group of around 10 lads (I was a bit of an outsider but they where sound and I didn't care). Anyway A worked in the gym that I went too and I noticed her would say hello ETC and through my mates who knew her friends we became friends. Now to cut a long story short Because really I hadn't had any girls pay any attention to me I became slightly obsessed with A, Not stalkerish or anything just used to text her when I was drunk ETC thinking about her all the time, would make my day if she even noticed me.

Now she started going out with one of gang said friends and I was devestated, I told her how I felt when they started but was knocked back and we still remained friends. Anyway they had a row one night and I text her practically gloating saying I was sorry they didn't work out and basically everyone fell out with me over it and resulting behaviour from which I never really got back on friend terms with any of them. only spoke a number of times after that even though I did apologise but sent her a few more stupid druken test untill I met my current GF.

Now, Like I said I'm very happy with my current GF but A poped into my head the other night after say 2 years of barely thinking of her (obviously while drunk) and I wrote out this very long text I was going to send basically Apologising and saying I didn't mean to upset her and hope she was well. Luckily enough I fell asleep before I text it but I can't get out of my head should i have. I don't need her as a friend or anything I guess i'm telling myself its for closure.

For anyone still with me thanks for sticking with me too then end thats a few years on internal monologue built up and I thank anyone who has any comments or advice.

IMHO I would strenuously advise you to not send the text. Let your current life and your girlfriend be your "closure". Little good will come from it.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    +1.

You may think you werent stalkerish in the past - but sending a text for 'closure' 7 years after you started with current GF is stalkerish behaviour!!

Do. Not. Send. The. Text. Ever.

Get on with your life, you are engaged and going to get married to your GF ... you have a future together, look forward to it instead of looking back. Life moves on. Move with it.

There's no need to revisit this little obsession this far on in another relationship, it's been 7 years since you were even in a position to make advances with her! Delete her number, and erase it from your memory too, you only seem to text or think of her when drunk, that's not a good sign either. I'd be happy with my lot if I were you, let bygones be bygones.

While your deleting her number, you may want to delete the text you typed also, or your girlfriend may make a decision for you that was never part of your plan. If you're not wholeheartedly content with your girlfriend then dont get married. This 7yr old fixation sounds to me like "the one that got away" syndrome. And IMO texting a girl when she was with your friend IS stalkerish behaviour, you said yourself that you lost all your friends, maybe you should look at why

    Thanks Everyone for the replies,

Ya I know in my heart of hearts its not right and someone made a good point with the one that got away comment But I'm very happy with my current GF and wouldn't change it for anything Being honest.

I just lost my job recenly so feeling just off since then I suppose not that i'm using it as an exuse or anything. I don't want to go out the girl in question I honestly mean it went I said I just didn't want to leave things bad.

Ya I can kind of admit that It was and prob is stalkerish even though its only as I read it's dawned on me.

    Thanks again.
