New RTÉplayer

    Anyone get a look at the new 'RTÉplayer'? - http://www.rte.ie/player/#

    Long overdue, but everything seems to load very slow on it, makes a big change from the sh*tty realplayer 'media player' they used to have though.

    Anyone notice as well that apart from the programmes, its essentially a carbon copy of BBC's iplayer? - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

    Typical of RTÉ to just copy whatever the Brits did...why can't they ever come up with their own stuff? They have the resources to do it...

    Everything is copied these days. Sure the fax machine is just a typewriter with a waffle iron attatched

    Works fine for me. Definitely agree with you though, it's a massive improvement.

    Why fix what isn't broken? It's a good player, it does what's asked of it.

    All that's needed now is 720p quality like we used to have a la DivX and Stage6 etc.
