Guys, you may remember that last year I started a thread about selling my cars and whether you should keep or not.
Well at the time,my mind was made up for me in that I was briefly out of work. During that time I did manage to sell 2 of my cars, and a third at a later date.
Well when I did get on my feet again,I did what every sensible collector does:rolleyes:I went on a buying spree again. So,one again I have 3 cars.

Last weekend I had another driver lined up so that I could bring both my Renault 15 & 17 to Durrow ,as they effectively are different variations of the same car. Unfortunately I lost my driver that morning and ended up just bringing one car. This started a conversation with a friend of mine since this happened. We all like to collect, but as he said--I only have one ar**.
You cannot drive them all. 1 enevitably becomes a favourite and the rest get neglected.
If ,as may happen, the Government may decide to NCT classic cars, then are people going to concentrate on keeping just 1 of their cars in perfect condition, then this may well become a reality.

That brings me to my question,,,,would I be mad to sell my current fleet just to get that one car to completely cherish((((bearing in mind that my attention span of cars is as long as my driveway)))).

    Your thoughts please:confused:

Is the government planning on introducing the NCT for cars over 30 years old?

you have a disease, but it's not hurting you or anybody else so limit yourself to 3 and you should be OK.

as long as you don't put a wife/partner/child under pressure financially as a result of your addication then forget about it!

Surely you should have 1-2 spare cars lying around for each of your good ones???

I find that I like the different characteristics of different cars. I might drive one for a while, then move to another and its like discovering the car again.

So keep as many as you are comfortable with.

Would you please stop giving the government ideas?? What's going to be the next suggestion? Tax them like normal cars?

And besides, how would they manage to test vintage cars? Their machines are not set up for it and their database holds no details of any cars over 30 years old. The only way they'd be able to test a car is on the open road, which would require open insurance for all NCT testers. This could end up costing more than it's actually worth
    :D:D:D
