Great player. Fighting the cancer to come back aswell was an amazing thing. A hero in my eyes. I'm sad to see him go.

Great player. One of those that, no matter where he was, if he was standing over the sliotar with a free-in you'd expect him to tap it over with ease.

You could never give Cork a free within an asses roar of the goals when Deano was around. He was a joy to watch sometimes and will be a loss

The yellow helmet will never be forgotten and he was a true sporting legend and one of the best to come out of Munster in a long time. After the recovery from Cancer which to beat it is an achievement but to take to hurling again a brilliant man and it was a pity he did not retire with a few more All-Irl medals in his pocket and I say this as a Kerry supporter who always liked Cork hurling.

Yeah he was some man to take a free, loved his style when taking them. Used to shudder everytime we played Cork and he got a free coz it was always a garaunteed score! Best of luck and well done Joe.
