    Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there ar special router settings for the belkin routers. I know for example the the eircom euthopia router there ar settings.

I only got a router yesterday and it connected fine but had a Game of PES last night and everyone i played got disconnected, not sure if it was my fault or not but below there player (1 or 2) it was flashing between red and yellow while mine stayed either yellow or green.

    Please any advice

Which Belkin router did you get. I know of someone who has had nothing but problems with the PS3 on a Belkin.

He has a similar one but with 2 aerials. He can't find a solution but if anyone does know of one do let me know. Thanks

I have a Belkin Router. No issues on Xbox live or PS3 Online.

    Eircom DSL standard 3m package.

It could be your router is too far away from the PS3 (poor signal) if you are connected over wireless. Try connecting directly via Cat5 to see if it makes a difference.

Also the you may need to change the channel as you prob have interference from your neighbours. Most people leave them on default channels.

Have a read through the manual. More than likely something simple.

Not sure if it's a similar problem but I've had problems connecting an iPod touch with Belkin routers.
The last router I had wouldn't allow the iPod to connect when encryption was enabled but worked fine unsecured. The new router allows it to connect fine but the Mail application can't retrieve any new mails. But loading gmail in Safari finds the mails fine. I think they have a problem with portable devices/devices other than pc/laptop for some reason

Ive a belkin N series and havnt really had any issues(aside from how far the router is from the ps3, buggerin 3 story houses  ). I just gave the ps3 a static IP and set that to be the authorised device(not sure if thats the correct term) so no ports are blocked on it

thanks chin, :) could u tell me how to set up a static ip address and will this effect any other wireless devices in the house, i.e the laptops in the house, some of which could be on at the same time

Depends on the Belkin Model, not all offer the same facilities.

on some you can set up a static device outside of the firewall and security of the router.
Others you will have to assign static IP's to all of the devices.

Try giving the PS3 a static address above the standard range of the normal DHCP e.g 192.168.2.26

    ISP issue?

My mate had untold problems with NTL. Constantly kicked out of group matches on Xbox Live

Nope. It has all been checked. Cable modem straight into the PS3 no problem but cable modem and the Belkin router than forget about it. Using my Netgear router and no problems there either.

It wont affect the others. Just set it higher then most would use. So if you have say 8 devices that would use the wireless set it to somethin like 192.68.2.12

Youres could have a blocked port preventing it or it could be an ISP issue or distance from router.Might aswell rule everything out though :)

Same issue for me here, I've tried setting the PS3 in a DMZ and opening ports and static IP, no luck so far. To play online Killzone I have to plug direct into the cable modem and its fine.

I'm with NTL if that affects anything.
