It was never worth €199 in the first place. :)

The big question is how fast is it ?
My pet gripe with digital cameras is that it takes so long before you can take a picture after you turn it on, so you always miss the moment.

There is a slight lag, tested it out the window. Does not seem bad. See pic below

You would be better off getting a nice canon a470 from argos for €69, only €20 more and probably a WAY better camera.

It's not always about the megapixels. A camera with a lower megapixel count but with a much better sensor and lens will produce much better pictures.

Not to mention the lens. Canon lenses would generally be better than those cheapo makes. On the other hand €49 for that sort of spec sounds grand if only for snaps and maybe more. On the other hand I too would probably pay the extra €20 for a Canon over a Technika to be honest. I've always liked the Canon PowerShot range having used several. But it's horses for courses I guess...

I don't think this will be better than a sony ericsson cybershot (or any other japanese brand) mobile phone.
Save your money and space for a better mobile, unless you want a DSLR.

Then again you could spend the money on an upgrade to your phone, some camera phones are better than entry level cameras and have the advantage that you always have it to hand. Or to look at it another way there is no point in getting a camera unless it's substantially better than your camera phone or has a flash or something.

Got the 10MP Technica in a Tesco's near Bangor in Nth Wales around a year ago for £45....I've got a 4MP Olympus E-10 that takes way better pictures though.

No s/w needed, just plug it into a USB port with the lead supplied and it gets picked up as a removable drive.
