Looking for a reasonably priced city centre hotel in Edinburgh- not Jury's or Travelodge - something a bit nice but not mad expensive. Within reasonable walking distance of Waverly station/Princes St.

Any ideas? Not a hen party/stag night central type hotel please. Thanks!

The thistle hotel in edinburgh central is just off princes street, looks like a bit of a concrete monster from the outside but is nice on the inside.

Theres also an ibis, which is smack bang in the middle of everything on the top of nicholson street, which is very close to waverly station.

Most aother hotels in edinburgh central are boutique hotels. might also have alook at the radisson on the royal mile as its still off peak.

Theres also the holyrood aparthotel on hollyrood road, big really nice apartments, fit a good few in there.

Myself and the missus stayed in the Thistle off princes street aswell recently and it is a lovely Hotel. The room was a bit on the small side but other then that we had no complains, it is prefectly located it you want to do all the tourist stuff and the staff were very accomadating. We flew into edinburgh at 8am in the morning and we were able to check in straight away, which saved us having to lug our bags around all morning.

I stayed in the Hudson Hotel, just at the bottom of Princes Street. Really central and lovely hotel. Trendy bar and nice food. Room wasnt the biggest but perfect for a weekend break.
    Love Edinburgh, great city.
