I'd be almost certain that your TDC (aka flywheel sensor) needs cleaning. 5 minute job. Instructions here

Maybe it doesnt like your spelling, hmm

Mine idles at around that. A low idle isn't really a problem. If it's not so low it continuously stalls it's fine. Don't worry about it.

it stalls the odd time and it used to idol at 1100 rpm so something is wrong i think

So? It's not that big a difference. Nothing is wrong. If the car settles into a steady idle then it's fine.

'odd time' is a bit ambiguous. If it's once a day, it might be a problem Once a week, or once a month would be acceptable.

Since youve cleaned the flywheel sensor? If not, wait and see if it does . If it doesnt, problem solved.:)

I have a 01 Laguna II. I had the same problems as you.........first off the car would just suddenly stop say when breaking,(scary when coming down the motor way:mad:) I would lose everything and the car would just kinda freewheel until I started it again! Then a day or so later it would take many attempts to start it (one say it took me 33 continous attempts to start then all of a sudden it just kicked in)

So brought it to renault and they had clean the throttle body and repalce the fly wheel sensor.

Mine idles at around 800rpm all the time even before this happened and it still those today but it works fine! FINE...........haha now I said that something will probaly go wrong with it!!:o

it seems to me that i was a fool to buy the car in the first place ive had nuthing but trouble but i am not spending another penny on it on a old car of mine ajusting the revs was as simple as turning a screw on the carb but im lost now on how to fix it or is it ok to leave it:confused:

If it doesnt stall anymore why would you try to fix anything?

Either way, you wont find any make of car with a carb younger than the mid 90's (waits for someone to come in to try prove me worng but at the end of the day we are talkign mainstream here)

1100rpm sounds like a high idle speed. 800/900 rpm sounds about right.

You'd need a medical card to keep these things going, spoke to someone today with a 06 Megane and he's having problems with the coils, this problem has been around since at least 2000 and Renault couldn't be bothered their @rses to fix the problem, gives you an idea what they think of their customers.

Do NOT throw around unsubstantiated claims that this and that dealership is about to close.
