Office Ultimate unable to Load onto Samsung netbook

    Hi folks,

hope someone can help......recently got a Samsung netbook...dinky and light as a feather.

In my wisdom I got a good deal on Office Ultimate and downloaded it onto the netbook. The application is 520mb which is fine as there is 150g of space on the hard drive.

However, when I double clicked the downloaded file in order to run it I got an error message - "........exe.is not a valid Win32 application."

I am trying to run a piece of software that is not compatible with the version of windows on the netbook i.e. the windows version doesn't have the power to run office Ultimate.

Has anyone come across this before and any handy ideas how to remedy?

I had a problem similar. Long story short, uninstall and reinstall SP3

Service Pack 3 - its an update you get when you do a windows update.
Are you using XP or Vista?
Try going into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Hmm, in add/remove progs mine says "Windows XP Serice Pack 3"

If your does not, right click on My Computer, click properties, and it should tell you under System.

Do a full Windows Update if its not there

Uh, surely it's more likely a problem with the downloaded .exe (corrupted/unfinished download) instead of SP3. Try re-downloading Office Ultimate ..

Uninstalled SP3 and that didn't do the trick, I am now currently redownloading the software.....it times like these that you really learn to appreciate your PC and not to take if for granted. Cheers for the insights....

Redownloaded the package and worked a treat. The SP3 was still uninstalled so not sure if that helped. Relaoded that after and seems to be tickety boo.

    Thanks for your help....
