i have decided to get healthy and today is the first day of the rest of my (soon to be halthy)life

I just had lunch a few mins ago. Now i would usually get a chicked fillet roll, plain no butter ior mayo or a breakfast roll. May put a bit of ketchup and pepper on it for flavour. today i opted for someting different and i wanted to know if these are any better than the rolls. I got the sizzler wrap which is chicken breast with red onions and mixed peppers in a wrap. i had the girl through a few noodles in there too. Are these wraps any more healthy or bad for me than the chicken/breakfast rolls? I also had some wedges as i was starvin marvin.

While on this note i had tea(one sugar down from two) for breakfast alongside two slices of brown nutty toast(rasb jam on both, no butter as i hate the stuff) and a bowl of wheetabix(three with sugar) All my milk intake is low fat. I had a bannana and apple around eleven and have had about 1 ltr of water so far too. Anything i can chan ge here or improve.

I know this is very vague but its day one and i think its an ok start................

    cheers

    frag

Bugger i thought i had started a new thread but hit reply by mistake, my bad. if it needs to be moved mods then please do so.

Congrats frag420... Try and get as much FRESH fruit and veg as possible. Boiled eggs, bowls of fruit, porridge and nuts are good for breakfast, try maybe adding some fruit to you wheetabix. The wrap is good for lunch but the wedges can be fryed in sunflower oil or the like and can be very unhealthy....

While a wrap is generally better than a breakfast roll, i would be wary of 'the sizzler' if its a ready made up job the have a most hot counters - the ingredients aren't normally the best quality and i would imagine there is a lot of additives and preservatives thrown in, and possibly a lot of grease as well, depending on how its cooked. Go for a freshly made up wrap if possible. Also, eating noodles and wedges with it is likely to negate much of the benefits of the wrap - together they would add up to a lot of cals.

Read through the stickies - there is some great info in there, the authors put in a lot of work. Once you have read through that, feel free to post any questions you have.

    cheers guys for the replies,

anyways the sizzler is freshly made there in front of me in a hot pan.You may have seen the deli counter in centra where they do chow mein and sejzchan chicken etc. anyways i watched everything they did so it was a splash of veg oil, some chicken, chopped red onion and chopped peppers and this was cooked of for a few mins with some chilli sauce of some description. I was trying to figure out about the chicked from looking at it in case it was that mechanically processed muck. im still alive so it must ave been ok i guess. It looked ok. forgot i was having a wrap when i told her to put the noodles in. tomorow i will leave the noodles out of the wrap. The wedges were prob more force of habit than anything else so will try and skip em tomorow too.

dinner tomite will be some wheetabix and a punnit of strawberries(cause i didn get a chance to get a shop in today and wont get a chance later either)better than take away i suppose.

You should move from 3 meals a day to 4 - smaller meals, lots of fresh veg and protein, and try to keep carbs for the morning/lunctime.

You will need to put a bit of thought into your diet and when you will eat, otherwise you will end up in the situation where you won't have time etc etc to eat properly which will lead to bad habits. E.g. weetabix is a good breakfast, but not best in the evening - you're metabolism slows down, and you're body won't necessarily have the chance to burn off the carbs before you go to bed, and will tend to store it as fat.

My main problem is my dislike of veg. Now while i dont completely dislike them i am not the biggest fan either. I have never reaaly ate them. Now i will have a few peas or a small bit of carrot the odd time with dinner or if im doin a stirfry for mydelf i will put half a red, yellow and green pepper aswell as a whole small onion into it. I supposse it is time i grew up and started having a bit of cop on. LAst nite i ate a punnit of large strawberries which was delish. Also had the wheetabix but didn see your post about slowed metabolism till late last nite. How does this differ in the morn if all il be doing is sitting behind a desk all day?? anyways had the wheetabix this morn(no sugar as we had run out but enough for one in my tea) wheetabix without sugar will take a bit of getting used ta!! So have the water in front of me and two bannanas as no apples in shop to keep me goin till one. May just have a bag of popcorn and an apple if i can get one for lunch and a good dinner around five. better get the veg in.

thats all i have for now.................at least i am not hungry thois morn

    have a good day
