Hi I have stayed in this place for the last few years and over the weekend I went on and checked some dates for July. I seen an offer described as

Price shown is final price. Offer valid for arrivals 20th June 2009 onwards. Limited offer subject to availability.

This deal appeared when you entered any two weeks from 20th June to 3rd July. So I booked July 1st for two weeks at 1169.

I got the confirmation email and booking went trough. I then booked Flights and taught happy days.

I got a call from the Hotel this am saying there was an error on the site and the best they can do is room only for 1600 euro (10% discount) I didn’t agree to anything as I couldn’t throw a tantrum at the time of the call so she said she would email some options.

What’s your advise on this one. Place is owned by FBD.

Here is the confirmation EMail see t&c's at the bottom. CC was not charged as full payment was due to be paid at the hotel.
The deal is back on their site now at approx 2500 for the same dates.

Unfortunately as they havent actually charged your card and the line in the T&C's "Rates quoted are subject to availability and alteration." I reckon they have covered themselves. I am open to correction on this.

I'd have to agree, their arse is covered on this one imho

bit out of order though - he's booked flights and all on the basis of the offer. If he accepts the higher price he is out of pocket, and if he cancels then he could be lumbered with flights he can't change, or which will cost him money to change.
Out of order IMO. I would be looking for a better compromise than 10% off the room only rate.

Totally Agree that its out of order and he should push for a better compromise but this is one of the problems of making the booking yourself and not booking all together with a bonded agent you are always taking a risk that something could go wrong.

That is pretty crazy. I woul not accept it on principal and also while speaking to a manager explain that you will not be using them again and you make sure everyone on the internet knows what happened

Thanks for the advice guys my wife sent an email to them last night and also copied the Ryanair booking as proof that we did indeed have flights booked after we got the hotel confirmation. They mailed back this am and are going to honour the original deal. I am really delighted as I have stayed in this place for the last two years and loved it.
