    Hi everyone,

Went to doc this morning. Urine test was negative so she took a blood test and i should no by Friday. She thinks i may have developed polyovarian thing? just wondering has anyone been in the same boat? any advice? stories? im very impatient!! :D

    Thanks in advance,

well i'd hardly go to all the trouble of posting something up here, if my doctor told me i wasn't pregnant! do me a favour love and read the above post again. my doc would not have taken a blood test if she knew i wasn't pregnant.. wake up!! do you know anything about pregnancies and testing for them? obviously not. the amount of women who urine test negative for weeks who turn out to be pregnant is very high. if you have nothing nice to say or no relevant feedback please sod off!! :p your not wanted here anyway!:D

I thought those pregnancy kits were 99% accurate myself? She probably took the blood tests to see was there anything else going on

Seeing as you're so clever, why didn't you ask the doctor you paid good money to see?

In answer to your question, yes, you're pregnant, with triplets. Michael, Jessica & Padraig are there names.

she said the blood tests are more accurate at detecting the pregnancy hormone? sometimes people dont have enough in their urine so the tests gives a false result. i was on some pregnancy forums and its very common apparently to get negative results with urine and positive in blood! i just wanted to see had anyone else been in the same boat. i should know by friday anyway please god :D

cookieainey it is highly unlikey that you are pregnant but false negatives can happen with those tests which is why your dr sent away the blood work.
All you can do it wait for your dr to come back to you.
I have had a false negtaive happen myself.

    Cookieainey,

This is typical with coming off the pill, your periods will probably vary wildly for the first few months, there are posts on the Parenting forum on here about it (in fact this may belong over there if OP is TTC?).

This can happen even if you had really regular periods even before going on the pill. I'm actually surprised that your doctor didn't mention this to you.

You're more than likely not pregnant, however you may not have even ovulated so if you're having sex be sure to take all necessary precautions if you want to avoid becoming pregnant.

Oh magic marker! You make me chuckle!! :P

OP , Just wait for the results.
I cant tell you you are pregnant by reading your post and neither can anyone else. You'l just have to wait until Friday.

Seeing as you have no control over the outcome of your blood tests, and a negative urine test is a good reason to believe you're not pregnant, I'd advise you to just keep busy and try not to think too much about it until you get your results back. Best of luck!:D

    Hello!

I came off yasminelle a while ago... six months or so i think. I had the exact same problem no bleed for three months. It happens, don't panic chances are it's nothing.

Although it is very important to keep an eye on it as not getting your period can be a sign of anything from stress, ovarian problems to PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome).

And I happen to think that you were right to go to the doctor and right to be worried, after all better safe then sorry!

    Best o' luck to ya!

Pregnancy testing kits are generally very reliable but if they're ever wrong it's usually only to show a negative result because of low hormone levels, rare for them to come up positive if you're not pregnant. The kits the gps use are similar to over the counter ones so it is possible that you could be pregnant but it's unlikely.
If you are, you're 6 wks gone..by now you more than likely would have symptoms like nausea and frequent peeing. Tender breasts for longer than two wks or so would be a good sign too.

    Am I pregnant?

Is that a rhetorical question? Is this?

Seriously, wait for the bloods. We're not doctors.

The only relevant stories I have is the similar threads that appear in PI every second week and the answer is always the same- ask your doctor.

EDIT Maybe a Mod could change the thread title?

Do you want to be pregnant or not? have you planned a baby by coming off the pill? It happened to me - one test said negative and another test a week or so later said positive
