What would be a reasonable private selling price on this? - FSH recent service / timing belt rear brakes, well minded, clean.

    Thanks for any advice.

I'd say an asking price of about €8,250 with haggle room of about €750.

I know a guy who recently sold a 01 1.9 TDI for €3,400 plus a tank of diesel after trying to shift it for 18 months. It was a facelift model.

I wouldn't mind if it was a piece of **** but he treated it like a baby.

€7500 sounds like strong money to me even for an excellent 03 1.8T with very low mileage and a good spec. Most people will want the TDI.

Aye but that wasn't actually a DI and had 140k on it:P

With 05 diesels making around 7.5-8.5k, I think a less desirable, 03 petrol, would be more onto the 5k mark, to help it sell. Mileage depending.

The 1.8T is a 150bhp engine though, so should be in decent demand.

Well the diesel was a 100bhp with remap, anywho 140k is about right for a 01 TDI. One of your neighbours next to Lidl has it now;)

We tried to sell a mint 03 1.8T Highline on behalf of a customer. Best trade bid we had was €3,500! Only had 46,000 miles on as well and had been really well looked after.

Light blue ya? Lol I saw it on Vagdrivers.net

Them lads wouldn't miss a thing, I'll keep an eye out for it. It'll be the one who tries ramming people of the road and shows no regard for other road users. But that's another convo, lol.

You could chance it at more, it's up to yourself. You never know, it might sell at a higher price, then again it might not. Pricing is completely up to you!
