    Do I need to go via USIT for J1 USA ?

    can I organise flights and visa myself ?

    theres been a few threads on this, u have to go to a provider (usit, sayit, go4less).

    technically ui actually can get a visa urself but apparently it very hard and is rarely done. u need a sponsor or something.

    went with sayit myself, worked out a lot cheaper than the other 2 for my trip. ring all 3 and get quotes, thts amy recommendation.

    And when you do ring all three for quotes make sure to ask the prices of flights, their mandatory insurance, etc.
    That 'free' J1 visa can end up costing quite a packet via the extras you are obliged to buy, a lot of complaints about USIT are knocking about on that score.
