Trying to find specific screws for a switch

I purchased a new 5 way switch to replace one on one of my guitars.
The new one is identical, except for the holes that the screws go through. the screws that held on the last switch wont fit through the holes on the new switch.

I dug around in the old screws box in the my dads workshop but could only find a silver screw, with a tiny head that just doesnt suit the guitar at all.

I need to know how do i measure the threads on a screw, and describe the head of a screw, so that i can order correct screws online?

Il take images of the screw and post them here if they are required.

    Thanks

they have screws and a 5 way switch that accepts those screws, but for an order that costs about 4 euro they want to charge me 14 euro shipping!

Are the screws you have pointed or flat at the end? If theyre pointed you can drill out the holes slightly smaller than the screws and then the screws will self-tap the holes. Its a bit of a rough way of doing it but it works fine.

Try http://www.axesrus.com/ - they're based in the UK.

If you're ordering something, shoot me a PM, maybe we can share the shipping costs?
