looking to make a start on losing some weight and getting back in shape as of tomorrow. whats best way to kick off?? only going to go with the stepper and then, weather permitting in the evening, go for a walk/light jog

*jump on stepper soon as i get out of bed?
*have some porridge and then go on stepper?
    *what should i eat/not eat?

i done a detox thing before where i drank a pint of water before getting out of bed and ate fruit and seeds for breakfast.

you's are the experts, what do you all suggest for someone who is overweight and unhealthy.

days diet is **** tbh. i deliver chinese and make a habit of eating them. would fill up a bit on bread and usually make more than i can eat, but do my bes to eat it all anyway. i buy but don't eat enough fruit and veg. like spicy food
my hamstring seems a bit sensitive at times, which puts me off the keep fit. i want to get it toughened up a bit so i can go out and play some 5 a side without worrying about hobbling in agony for a couple of weeks

Can you post up diet in full - from breakfast to bed?

We need to know exactly what you're eating to tell you where you're going wrong. Also, its often only once you track exactly what you eat that you realise yourself how much you're eating.

On the hamstring front, i'm not really qualified to give any advice on that front! if its been giving you problems, maybe you should consult with a physio to identify exactly what the issue is, what you need to do to fix it, and any limitations on your training as a result.

However, from a general perspective, (assuming you're diet is in order) a mix of cardio exercises, such as running, cycling, swimming etc and weigt training is good for weight loss (gen on different days).

Cardio helps you to burn off the fat, whereas weight training should help to increase you're metabolism, which will increase the amount of energy you're body uses throughout the day

diet in full would be a difficult one as it varies from day to day, depending on where i am/what am doing. as of tomorrow morning i'm gonna start out with getting something in order to help me lose weight and stop me being out of breath by jogging up a flight of stairs. i assume it's ok to start writing how am getting on in the fitness log forum

Well we need something to go on to give you advice! We can't do it all for you!

Have a read through the stickies on nutrition and then try and come up with something you can stick to yourself, and then post it for comments.

    What do you mean by..

Feel free to post a log, it can be good motivation and helps tracks progress.
