Anseo hasn't had gigs in it for ages now afaik, only ran for a while. I've never even heard of Twisted Pepper. And the best room to gig is the Inter/Celler imo, which you didn't even include in the poll (easy to forget I guess, tis only the longest running comedy venue in the country)

Are you getting people on boards to do your homework/thesis for you with all these polls?

well its fun actually, my polls are simple and require only a simple answer yet people like to give out and blab on about why is this not right and why is that not there etc etc..

Im a new fan of Comedy i dont know much about the comedy scene only that i have my favourites and my venues. People take these polls way way to seriously and are not able to complete a simple 10th grade task as to Answer the question!

So just answer the dam poll question and stop whining and giving out.

I'd go for the Axis in Ballymun, but then I would say that.....

The International is brilliant and the Laughter Lounge both Dublin and Galway are great to perform in

City Limits of Cork is another...eh...corker

The venue is usually as good as the crowd. No point in having a spanky cool venue with great acoustics if you're performing in front of a sparse crowd or a bunch of knobs

I see both from your profile and your style of posting that you are new around here. It is not a good idea to jump right in and start dictating your terms, so ease up on the attitude there a bit. Most people tend to just lurk about and watch how a forum works before jumping in and posting - and imo, thats the best way to do it.

Any more outbursts like that may earn you a temp ban from here

Im entitled to my opinion, And threatening to ban me wont solve anything. I just want to hear peoples opinions on the topic! :D

Yes you are entitled to your opinion, but so is everyone else. You don't seem to understand that people commenting on your poll is their way of expressing their opinion.

As elshambo said, lighten up a bit.

As for me threatening to ban you, it wasnt a threat, more a friendly warning. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt first. And yes, it WILL solve things ;)

Maybe not, but banning you will and by the looks of it that won't be too far away.
I suggest you read our forum charter before making any more posts.

you have never heard of the international comedy club / the comedy celler? the only place in dublin with comedy on 7 nights a week, packed most nights and by this stage is regarded as an institution....fair enough :p

for the pool itself i went for the ha'penny, great venue, great location and every time i have played the battle it has had a brilliant crowd...may not have always been the easiest crowds but they are good!

irelandseye quick queestion: are you a comedian yourself?

Well I'd definitely recommend the International if you haven't been there yet...

    havent been there in years:

Is the international still full of fawning friends/family/wannbee comedians laughing just a little too hard at the residents stuff?

I used to go a lot (once upon a time) but it got to the stage that if you were not "one of us" ud be getting dirty looks as you handed over the fiver:eek:

The air did drip heavy with stale pretension for a while in there, put a few off

I wasnt the only one saying this by the way SO it wasnt just me!:D:rolleyes:

I'd have to say it's the inter, hands down. I've been going there for almost 10 years, performed my first show there in 2001 and have sporadically been back. But it's the only pace I'd think of going to even if I wasn't performing.
