    just curious, what are the chances of a pub in wales accepting my learner permit as a form of ID, going over for the bank holiday and wouldnt like to get stuck

    i had intended to yes. have done it a few times before when i wasnt 18 as have other family members, going over on the ferry.

    I'd imagine you'd be ok, door policy for actual ID seems to be slack enough in the UK compared to most of big towns in ireland. Also depends on where you go of course, you are just as likely to meet an annoying door man in Swansea as Swords.

    Does the learners permit have a photo on it?

    There is a general rule in the UK that if you don't look 21 you will be asked, but a drivers licence with a photo would generally be accepted.

    althought you don't need a passport to go across, it is a good idea to have it. there is no dispute about a passport, so why not bring it.

    I dont have one, never been further then england, yep there is a photo on it. will be in tenby for the weekend at a scooter rally.
