If you search this forum you'll get a few threads about them, I found them cheap, delivered fast and perfect item, but for each satisfied customer they seemed to be a head wreck for someone else apparently. :o

anything goes wrong your screwed like many other online retailers tbh. but then i have a camera from them and it works great and they were about 40% cheaper than anywhere else (€140) and never had a problem. would i buy a high ticket item like a tv - probably not.

Not all of them are bad, to be fair. Elara and Komplett are based locally and you can pick up / go back to them in person. Pixmania, afaik, is based in France, Dabs in the UK, etc. There's safety in screwing your customers from a distance.

For big ticket items, I bought a TV off Komplett and collected it. No problems, and I paid for it in the shop, not online, so no wories whatsoever.

not had good experiences with komplett stopped using them a few years ago, but we are talking about pixmania (found elara great though)

Pixmania do great paperweights. Anything you buy from them that breaks; instant paperweight. Their after-sales is extremely bad.

    =-=

Alcatel: Although Elara are based in Dublin, Komplett are not, but they do have a depot which you can collect from based in Dublin.

have been trying to order off them since yesterday and they just don't seem to want to take my money.

they have a .IE address but that's where it ends.

i spent ages trying to register my irish address but they refuse to accept an address in ireland without a post code ffs. the IEDR should take their IE domain off them for that alone.

i finally (thought I) had it sorted by putting two lines of my address in each address field, until i got through the registration and found out that their addressing system seems to totally ignore line 2 of the address input page.

i called them to try and do it over the phone and the guy on the other end of the line had such a thick indian accent i could hardly understand a word he was saying and in the end i had to hang up out of frustration.

how on earth do these feckless eejits run a sucessful business when the sales experience is like this?

i was about to spend €400 on a DSLR camera, but now I'm just going to buy it from a shop instead. it's actually only about €30 more expensive and I get to speak to someone who I can understand and i can touch the thing before I hand over my money as well as having somewhere to go back to if something goes wrong after i buy it.

I bought one thing from Pixmania, it was dead on arrival. It took almost 3 months to get a refund....

Great prices alright. But most of the time it's like buying the item in question from an indian bazaar warranty wise.
