What's that film?

I'm trying to think of the name of a film I saw a trailer for a lil while ago; as far as I recall it was about some young guy living in the backend of Ireland in the 70s who goes off and comes back and stuns the village with his hippiness. For some reason I keep thinking aliens might be involved too.

Anyway, a lil help please! Can't seem to find a nice list of Irish films anywhere

Nope, not breakfast on pluto..i think it was a little less mainstream than that. I'd say I saw the trailer in late 2008 or so.

This was an American remake of a German movie where 2 guys in white outfits frighten house owners overlooking a lake. They visit each house one by one and are very very polite. Anyone know the title?
