    Well, the boss brought me in for a chat today after 3 weeks in my new job in another department.

    Boss: 'Confab, you're doing a great job. Just brilliant. Truly spectacular.'

    Confab (thinks) 'Uhoh, I don't like where this is heading.'

    Boss: 'Anyway, we've no more work for you. Two weeks and you're out the door. Fine, we'll give you a glowing reference and you can go for as many interviews as you want while you're here, but the bottom line is that you're the newest victim of the recession.'

    Confab: 'B*llocks. Just as I was starting to enjoy it.'

    Oh the irony...

    The worst thing that happened to me in the past week was getting my job back. Messed up all my plans. Have to ring and cancel the dole. Seriously, too much hassle. If you get fired, stay fired. That's all I can say.
