Oh look a guy who can knock back a pint of Guiness, what a line up tonight!

    She was with Eileen Dunne

Just to clarify, she wasnt WITH Eileen Dunne, just with Eileen Dunne..

anybody noticed how relaxed Pat has become since he knew he was leaving. Actually showing a bit of personality. When you see the options for his replacement (excusing Mark Little), you would nearly ask him to stay.

hmm, no more postings in the last few minutes. I can only assume that the rest of you have fallen asleep like I just did.

    Very bad show tonight.. boring.

Yeah he seems like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders since he announced he is leaving. He could actually do the job properly now, showing a bit of personality.. Pity that has only happened now that he is leaving.

i was at the "Live at the Point" back in 1996 or 97, he stopped mid song and gave out b****cks to some fella in the front row who kept shouting "Christy, Christy!!""

A Legend, would put most other musicians to shame

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,633 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Jaysis Pat, you should get Christy on every week.

    What a Singer!
    What an Entertainer
    What a Gentleman!

A Carlow reference in the last line of "The Ballad Of Ruby Walsh". Brilliant.

In fairness after all he's done and seen and gone through kenny might have asked him a few bloody questions. Hugely interesting fellow and he gets him to play his favourite bloody songs. Christy Moores thoughts on the state the country is in and the rampant corruption would have been good. Good fcuking riddance to ya kenny.

Christy is an absolute legend, best guest they've had on in years

Christy is a musician not a politician , and Pat had him there for the music, and stuck to that and in fairness I thought he did a good job.

Maybe Christy will be Pat's 1st guest on his new political show!

Fair enough murphy but i remember when Gay Byrne had him on a couple of times and it was way more interesting. Kenny is too cramped and a control freak with people he doesn't know well, see for example how relaxed he was with anne doyle and eileen dunne.

Maybe Christy only wanted to do the music himself, especially as he has a new album out!

I thought the piece was very good and I liked how Pat sat between them and just had a relaxed chat. Also most of it was taken up with Christy's music not his politics, which is after all what he's best at!

Thought late late was good tonight and Christy was class but the pair from OZ oh Jesus they were awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,291 ✭✭✭meep

Think it's hilarious that when Pat uses a big word, he goes on to explain it for the rest of us. Tonight, it was 'multigenerational' during the Christy segment.

I was delighted he just stuck to the music, and as always he was quality. I really enjoyed just listening to the music rather than wasting time with political chat.
We all hear enough about recession and bad news etc all the time, so was great just to be able to enjoy Christy do what he does best.

May go and see him play somewhere again soon, its been too long.
