Hi Just need advise really. I got 2 driving points last year but was driving on UK license in the Republic of Ireland. I am due to go back to the UK to live next month and want to take out car insurace there. I am sending the new insurance company my 1years NCD I have got from here and I was wondering do I declare my 2 driving license points as they couldn't be put on my license as it was a UK license and won't show up on the UK DVLA license system. They will know I was living in Ireland because of my NCD so would they likely check the license data base here or just the UK one? I was told my 2 points are just held on a system here. Any help and advise would be great help!

There is no need to declare the points because you dont have any on your license.

If you do decide to change your licence to an Irish one within 3yrs of getting fined then the points will be added but will only have the 3yr lifetime from whenever you paid the fine.
