Bike service

Lads, I was just curious how often do you get your bike serviced, how much do you pay on average and do some of you service it yourselves (if so-any tips). I have a a Lapierre racer which I use for a commute to work 20 miles each way about 2-3 days each week. I have never properly sericed it since I got it about 2 years…

Lads,

I was just curious how often do you get your bike serviced, how much do you pay on average and do some of you service it yourselves (if so-any tips). I have a a Lapierre racer which I use for a commute to work 20 miles each way about 2-3 days each week. I have never properly sericed it since I got it about 2 years ago and I crahsed off the bike nearly 3 weeks ago. I plan commuting again next week on it and was considering bringing the bike to the local bike center for a full run over (for confidence that the bike is ok more then anything else)

Got my road bike serviced this week, after one year by the shop where I bought it, for 50 euro. This was for a new headset, loose spoke, brakes and gears fine tuning.
