BMW Service

lads, can anyone recommend a good spot to get a service on a 06 1 series in Dublin. I know there are good independents out there but there is a warning light on dash regarding stability control and I think there may be something needing replacing through warrenty hence I think I should go through the main dealer. Thought I heard some ad on the radio a while ago about some service offer with BMW garages in Dublin but can't see anything about it online. Would have thought they would be trying to encourage business in this climate..

    Recommendations appreciated!

If under warranty I would head to Frank Keane or M&G.

what was the first date of registration?
is there a 3 year warrenty, which would mean its up this year depending on the month of registration in 2006.

can recommend Frank Keanes Or Milltown.
if its an official service then i would recommend the main dealer and get the intermeadiate stuff done at a specialists like AC Cars on the South Circular Road.

Had the same problem on my 05 1 series. It's the ABS control unit. 1800 euro if out of warranty though BMW sometimes pay toward cost of replacement, probably end up paying 4/500 euro if out of warranty.

II always had great service from Joe Duffy's, but then I've bought 3 new cars from them so :P

No, its a UK import, so wouldn't have thought you would get anything except the european 3 year warranty from the dealers here.

Now there's something you don't hear everyday.

I have to say I had a 1st service done by Duffy's last December with no issues.

I've asked the question here before - what do Joe Duffy's do or not do regards servicing that people here have a problem with?

I've heard a lot of negative things about them in the past, customer service mainly, but I believe they are working hard to improve things, more recent feedback seems better.

isnt the warranty not 2 years bmw and sometimes an extra year from the garage selling? you may not still be in warranty

hmmm... thats a bit worrying alright. Its a three year warranty in the UK alright which i believe *should* be honoured europe wide, but wouldn't surprise me if they found someway to wriggle out of it. Will dig out VIN and call them

Give Duffy's a shout they will give you any info you need over the phone and check for any other recalls that are due, Bobby in there is very helpful
