The Aware Cycle is on tomorrow from Maam Cross around recess, carna, Kilkerrin and back into Maam Cross. 50 or 30 mile option.

    Route map: http://www.aware.ie/fundraisingPAges...p?strPageID=71

Has anyone done this cycle before? Is it well organized i.e. is it like the croi cycles with signage and support vehicles, tea and hang-sandwiches and all that ??

arramusha, no clue as I never did this before.

myself and another boardsie member are hoping to do this cycle tomorrow, although we have just heard about it so we have no spnsorship setup. wondering if they will accept 50 quid from us and allow us to tag along ?

Just back from the Aware Connemara Cycle. I must say it was extremely well organised. Lots of snacks & drinks available along the route, and plenty of support cars keeping an eye throughout. The organisers were a really friendly and welcoming bunch, and everyone got a resounding cheer when they finished.
The signage was OK, though a few people did go wrong.
The route was stunning, particularly the coastal part of the longer route, and we couldn't have been luckier with the weather.

How did the rest of ye get on?

It was great, very well organised and everyone so friendly. And oh boy - the weather and that scenery eh? It was spiritual.

Twas mighty, loadsa hang-sandwiches, water melon, a bit a beetroot and sunshine...and the cycling wasn't bad either. Fair play to you if ya did it. And well done to the organisers. Great accomplishment and a great cause. Lookin forward to next year.:):)
