Is it too late to take up an old 'lawn' and have a new one for the Summer?

The best time to sow a new lawn is early april to late september. But if you wanted one for the summer i wouldnt think it would be a good thick lawn. You should have put round-up on it last month to kill everything and be ploughing it now.Anybody should correct me if im wrong.

You can remove old lawn and replace with new lawn anytime before the frost returns. April is traditionally a good month to sow a new laewn, temps are warming up and plenty of moisture around also. Newly sown lawns can take up to 4 weeks to germinate and 3 months + before they can be considered resilient. On the otherhand you could roll turf for the new lawn which is generally well established and resilient within 4 weeks after installtion.

The roll turf is more expensive, but is provides excellent results in the nearer term, area size must also be considered for cost reasons.
