Been following its development for a while now. I am a huge fan of the original Gullwing. Personally I am a bit disappointed, the sketches they released at the start of the project were alot more radical:

I think it is a shame that they toned it down so much. It has become just another front engined supercar. :(

^^ I prefer the car from the first post in this thread to that yoke in the post above. It looks a bit too like a Cadillac

The original, however, will be hard to beat :)

My money is on the angular one, just look at all the current pointy Mercs. If they do have the balls to design something like the OPs image then happy days.

It's a bit lacklusture going on those pictures, maybe they should do a remake of the original like they did with the Ford GT40.

This thread caused me to go searching for more images of the classic, see what money they were fetching now ($400k+) etc.

    Came across this:

The guy owns some clothing range in Japan and as you can see, he's ruined it!

    WHY?

That is soooooooooo pretty!! Me thinks I would look well cool behind the wheel of that. How much are they offering for fresh kidneys these days?

How did you find out about the car show? I never hear about these things until it is too late. :(

One of which? Old or New?

Good point galwaytt...I hope that they don't market this as a remake of the '50s original. The reason the Gullwing is so iconic is because it was so completely unique. I am beginning to hate the new one.

Indeed. Here's a pic I took a few weeks ago, in the M-B museum...

Ultimately both...always fancied the original, black, cream or red leather interior.
