Just got speaking with a fella in work who was using the company's video camera. It's a Canon camera, and of course I was interested in the lens which is a 5.5mm-88mm at F1.6-2.6. Googling I found that there is an adapter (EF to XL mount adapter) to mount 35mm lenses on it, but my Q is can you mount the video lens on a 35mm (digital/film) camera ?
    The 35mm focal length equivalent is 39.6mm - 633.6mm (ie. 633.6mm at F2.6) !!!!! or am I reading this wrong... :o

That lens is built for the sensor size on the video cam, if you were to fit it to a DSLR camera (even crop cameras) I'd imagine the vignetting would be severe to say the least.:D

    Yeah, thats what I thought. I was imagining/comparing it to.....say..... putting a point-n-shoot lens on a DSLR.
/Note: It was actually quite a big lens !
