    I was listening to Shannon ATC at the time and I heard the controller say that the emergency services would be wating for them as soon as they land... I didn't know what was going on at the time. Thought there was going to be a crash!

    Hope the pilot is ok.

    they would of been told about 10mins out from landing depends on the airlines SOP'S with us its the pax get told very little normally only told that we are diverting due to technical reasons

    Had a look myself, theres comms when he came back off the ocean OK (please have emergency services, suspected heart attack etc), but it happened when they had passed 15west, so they werent talking to Shannon, but Shanwick. So theres no liveatc for that.

    Heard the captain is in the regional in Limerick (-god help him!)
