Rainbow Read-Along books

    Anyone remember these? They were adaptations of popular 80's movies done for kids. Each edition consisted of a 30 page booklet with photos and text and an accompanying cassette tape that read the book to you.

    Now that I listen to them again they sound very juvenile and amateurish (The voice/acting talent on it is particularily bad) but back in the day it was the only way I could get a piece of the movie to own and enjoy (we didn't have a VCR player in our house at the time) so these cassettes got a lot of play-time in our tape record.

    These are the ones I remember having (those links actually have the recordings available so it might be interesting for you to listen to again for the first time in over 20years - as it was for me.)

    No, I don't remember these but I do remember those awful novelizations of the fillums that came out in the 80s. Quite a few seemed to be spawned from the George Lucas/Steven Spielberg stable of blockbusters. Obviously these were barely a step up from that and just a move sideways from the ladybird book/tapes
