    Interesting stuff. Pain is a perception as well as a sensation. Depression causes increased pain perception - but its a case of chicken and egg though - if you have chronic pain, this can make you depressed. Once depressed, pain is perceived as worse.

    Hence some people can ignore pain and others suffer - further research is needed and further neurobiology.

    I saw that article too, very interesting. It needs a bit more work though, paper seems a bit limited.
