Any day that isn't Friday or Saturday so it's less likely to be inundated with plonkers.

They have changed the starting times to 3.45 for the first race each day except Saturday so they can shove it. There was nothing wrong with it the way it was.

Put in a 'not going' slot in that poll.

The reason cited for this is to allow people complete a half day's work before going to the races, so they won't be using up holidays, etc. and that local businesses will at least be able to carry out a half day's work each day of the festival.

From my point of view, it actually works pretty well as it takes a huge amount of pressure off me trying to get all the horses exercised before going to the races. The only downside is that it means I'll be finishing later after feeding, etc.

It depends on what races you want to see (if that's important for you). Gold Cup day always has good racing, but tends to be more packed than, say, Tuesday or Wednesday. It you don't mind crowds, go for the top races; if you would prefer it quieter, then Tuesday and Wednesday would be better.

Thats the downside allright, the late finishing time. Maybe not getting out of the place untill 7.30 is late.

with the exception of galway no major festival has an evening start and even galway on the 2 big days (hurldle and plate) start around 2pm.do not think it will bolster the crowd one bit having evening start.

Does any have the schedule of races and the start times yet.

I'll probably go to the saturday meeting...I'd say the Friday evening should do well.

Its a ****ing joke tbh. Racing is a day time sport, end of. Even 2 bells is late enough for a start. 3.45 means I wouldn't even consider going.

plenty of evening mate this time of year but staging a MAJOR festival in evening time in my humble opinion is not good:cool:

30 quid admission is a bit steep imho.another vote for not going.

Obviously.. But I just think that actualy going to the races is definitely a day time activity. I've been to Dundalk on a Friday evening a few times and for me its a pale comparison. It's all part of it, the 9 o clock start for the RP, a breakfast roll goes down well, etc etc, I just cant do that at 4 o clock in the day!

Very few pay into these things, ask around outside as there are always loads of free tickets floating around.

The hotpot treble pays about 5/2 tomorrow anyway. 1/3, 4/6 and 4/7.

    Masterminded might win ;)

I think Joncol could give Cooldine a decent challange he's at e/w prices so you should get your money back at worst.

On the boylesports website, how come no odds are being shown. Just the letters SP?
