    Hey, I will be going to Tunis this summer, and I want to try some diving there. I was wondering - what do I have to do before renting eqip?
    Some kind of license?

    A course... and me thinks even after that they'll be reluctant to rent equip to ya....

    Hey, you'll need to do a course, either through PADI or SSI. It will involve some lectures (I know, just what you want on a holiday!) to go through the various aspects of diving. Its not just about dunking your head underwater! Then some pool work to go through some exercises you'll need underwater, such as clearing your mask, reg and such like as well as the swim test. Then you should be taken out to see some fishies!!!!

    Try and google some dive centers before you go, try to find a 5 star PADI resort if you can. Enjoy and safe diving!

    You dont have to do a full course. if you just want to try diving most dive centres do a try dive which you can do in less than half a day.
    So you can see what its like before you commit to a full course.
    If you want to dive independently you will have to do the full course
