    Hey folks,

We're (at KilkennyMusic.com) looking for buskers of all walks and genres to take part in Busker 2009 with Kilkenny 400 (Kilkenny celebrates its 400th birthday this year), starting this coming Saturday April 18th.

Each fortnight from April 18th we hope to have six busking acts hit the streets of Kilkenny, competing for a 200 cash prize on the day. We video the acts, upload a track from everyone and open the vote to the public. The act with the most votes at the end of the week walks away with 200 euro cash and an invite to return for the grand final where we've a top prize of 1,000 cash.

There is no fee to register, but you have to be registered to compete, and, we're limiting the acts to six per weekend.

Given the association with the Kilkenny 400 celebrations, we've been given a guaranteed cash prize pool of 3,400 Euro to distribute. If you've never busked in Kilkenny before and want to open yourselves up to a KK audience, use the busking as a platform to promote an upcoming gig in Kilkenny (or to talk to us about organising a gig in Kilkenny), then this is a great opportunity.

We've got some slots left for this Saturday (April 18th) starting from midday and we're taking bookings right through to September.

The Busker 2009 site is live at http://kilkennymusic.com/busker2009 and you can click here to register for this weekend.

You can also email me (hello AT kilkennymusic DOT com), PM me etc for more details.
