New Tyres

    Morning

I got a quote this morning for a new set of tyres (225/60/16 98 V) and the guy can get me Silverstone Tyres 98V for €110 a tyre...

The other usual suspects were coming in around €180++

So in these tough times would I be mad to go for these Silverstone ones, which he says are grand or should I just suffer the extra hit on the pocket and go with a well known brand

I'm no expert on this kind of things and have never heard of silverstone before and there's not a whole lot on the net about them?
Anyone ever had any experiences good or bad?

    Silverstone Tyres

    never heard of them...

Like the other guy said, look at www.camskills.co.uk - The likes of Falken 452's and Toyo Proxies get good reviews and are very reasonable...

you should look at eiretyres.com seems to be fairly reasonable. Personally i got a set of kumho tyre last time for my car and one thing for sure il buy a set of them again perfect for both wet and dry roads

My Falken FK 452's were €75 on Camskills
They are €101 on Eirtyres. Thats over €100 extra for a set...

I had to get a new tyre last weekend. Went to Modern Tyres in Newry. Paid £200 there, when I was quoted €368 here.

+1 for Camskills. Almost next day delivery too ! Prices are great compared to anywhere else.

I had mine fitted by "Best Price Tyres" in Rathcoole (01-401-3607) - they charge EUR12 per wheel including balancing and absolutely no bother about my supplying my own tyres. Class.

€12 a wheel, thats incredible value. Does it matter what size the wheels are?

Try http://www.blackcircles.com/ too, I found them slightly cheaper than camskill

Nope - I had 17" wheels done, and then some 16" wheels (different car). 4-wheel laser alignment was EUR50. If you're in Rathcoole coming from the Dublin side, they're up a side-street on the left where there's a advertising sign for Kerosene or something.

    Hi Lads,

Regarding Best Price Tyres in Rathcoole, I can vouch for these guys as well. I've got tyres in the past very reasonable, 225/45/17 Goodyear Eagles for €110 ea and more recently a cheaper brand of the same size for €60, can't remember what they are but they are fine...

I've also had mechanical work done, services and some other more advanced troubleshooting...very satisfied.

    I don't work there, I'm just a happy customer.

Can't add anything that hasn't been said above but there's a lot better value to be had than €110 a tyre!

I'd say the OP got his tyres since he posted 3 years ago.

He's probably needs to be thinking about changing them again now :D
