For a car that modern, they will be able to de-code the lost/stolen key from the system meaning that it cannot start the ignition. Anyone who has it could still open the doors however. A replacement key is likely to be a little bit painful price-wise though!

Also price from a dealer. They were cheaper than autokey for me.

thanks for the replies looks like the main dealer is going to my best options ,des darcy in swords is going to decode the lost key and supply a new one for about e200 the lost key will still open the door but it will not start the car and when the door is opened with this key the alarm will go of ,haven't had time to have it done yet so still locking the car in the yard by the camera at night

Bear in mind when getting a new key programmed in to the immobiliser, all old keys are erased. So existing keys as well as the new key are done at the same time, and no need to worry about stolen/lost keys.

If your key does central locking, you can program that yourself.

So, you could buy a blank on the internet (eg ebay) for 20 quid, get it cut for 5 quid, get the dealer to program it for 20-30 quid and program the central locking (if there such a feature on the key) yourself. Total less than 60 quid.

I've a bit of experience in doing this myself, so PM me if you need more info.
